I can’t remember what made me listen to this two-year old debut album from shoegaze/stoner act Grivo.
Whoever or whatever it was, it’s not a bad recommendation. They remind me of the talented (though hopelessly immature and transphobic) Whirr, but with more of an epic, post rock quality.
Some might argue it’s a little samey and unoriginal, but I don’t care as long as it’s well executed, and with highlights like ‘Opia’ and the sludgy ‘Cave’, I enjoyed it throughout.
