There’s no time for subtlety in 2020, and on debut album Vandalism released last month, Derbyshire council estate punk Rum Lad isn’t pulling any punches.
Let’s be honest here, the Tories are an intolerable bunch of bloody-minded fuckwits. They’re no need to sugar-coat it and Rum Lad certainly doesn’t bother. Relish him tear them a new one on tracks like ‘Tory Boy’ and the uproarious ‘Frauds’.
With other highlights including the catchy ‘Billy Bully’ and ‘Psycho’, and peppered with funny and clever lyrics throughout, this is a necessarily hard-edged and uncompromising look at a right mess of country.
